May 13, 2016
Engaged and Driven Customer Success Manager to Comintelli
August 1, 2016The Annual SCIP (Strategic and Competitive Intelligence Professionals) Conference was held 16-19 May in Orlando, USA. As usual, Comintelli was well represented and exhibited its latest Intelligence2day software solutions in booth 28, next to our partners Proactive Worldwide.
Our 8 highligths of the show were:
1. The opening key note presentation by Everest climber Scott Kress
Scott shared the inspiring story of his summit of Mount Everest and the leadership strategies that helped his team succeed, talk about needing a good plan of attack….The fact that stuck with me was that 80% of climbers who die on Everest do so after reaching the summit…”Ultimately nothing fails like success”. At the time of the presentation, Scott said that so far this year no one had died at Everest, but the weekend after 4 climbers dead on Everest, may they rest in peace.
2. Comintelli’s CEO, Jesper Martell, was awarded by SCIP
“Surprised, honored, thankful”. Designation as Distinguished Member recognizes extraordinary, internationally-recognized, scholarly attainment in one of the integrated intelligence disciplines or the field of strategic intelligence as a whole. These individuals are being recognized for two major reasons; one is that these individuals have made a special contributions to the intellectual advancement of intelligence as a profession and, secondly, have shown significant dedication to the SCIP Association and SCIP community of creators as a whole.
3. David Ban’s success story at the Women in Intelligence series
David blended right in and delivered a great story and a great endorsement for bringing more diversity and innovation to the future development of the intelligence profession.
4. The professionalism of SCIP University
The new intelligence training programs were led by top experts and attended by an interactive group of professionals that received their SCIP certificates afterwards.
5. The early risers morning run at 6 AM
“Wake me up before you go-go
Don’t leave me hanging on like a yo-yo”
6. The lunch table about CI portals
Very engaged discussion about how to implement portals in a legacy environment, how to gain more users, should you bypass IT, the importance of user adapted dashboards and much, much more. Thank you to all of you who contributed during that intense one hour!
7. The roll out of Akzo Nobel’s OneIntelligence system
Robert Jan gave a fascinating presentation about how they have gradually introduced a corporate CI system that the users are asking for and implementing themselves, something quite rare in most organizations.
8. The Future of Intelligence
PTC showed some interesting alternative ways of handling data and discussed the concept of Integrated Intelligence, broadening perspectives from “competitors” to “competitiveness”.
We had great fun meeting everyone and look forward to seeing you soon again!
