Will Machines Replace Humans?

Will Machines Replace HumansWill machines replace humans in the future? Well, who can tell, but we don’t believe this is somethings that would happen anytime soon. There are also events that Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence cannot predict as described in the book “The Black Swan”. If you have only fed the computer with white swans, it will calculate the probability of seeing a black swan as zero…

On the other hand, Machine Learning can help analysts to become more effective and smarter. And if you have smart analysts and smart tools, you will get the best results. The first humans to be replaced by Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence are likely to have roles that are very task-based and lack-creativity.

McKinsey Global Institute has also defined a new work role that would suite intelligence professionals very well; the so called “Business Translator”. Business Translators serve as the link between analytical talent and practical applications to business questions. Business Translators should have deep organizational knowledge and industry or functional expertise. This enables them to ask the data science team the right questions they need to arrive at the right insights. So, even if you outsource analytical activities, the Business Translator will possess knowledge of the organization that cannot be replaced. McKinsey estimates that there could be a need for 2-4 million Business Translators in the US alone over the next decade!
